Lil Wayne is now BMI's Music Icon
On Wednesday, September 6, in Miami Beach, FL, BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) will host an event to honor the top R&B/Hip-Hop songwriters, producers, and music publishers.
During this occasion, the BMI Icon Award will be presented to Lil Wayne, a 5x GRAMMY® award-winning superstar rapper, executive, and philanthropist.
This prestigious accolade recognizes Wayne's remarkable career spanning over two decades and his unmatched influence on the genre and beyond.
In addition to celebrating Lil Wayne's achievements, the event will also commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop, paying homage to its enduring legacy and its ongoing impact on music creators and fans across multiple generations.
The private gathering will take place at LIV Nightclub in Miami Beach and will be hosted by BMI President & CEO Mike O'Neill and BMI Vice President, Creative, Atlanta, Catherine Brewton.
